DO NOT STEP ON THE CIRRUS CLOUDS is an installation set to stand out against the serene landscape of the East Coast, as it piques a sense of sacred in the ordinary by spelling out a God-like commandment mid-air. The work is a collaboration with writer Alfian Sa’at, as its surreal physicality brings to life the fantastical suppositions posed by Alfian’s poem, to instill a sense of wonder in the everyday. Mischievously, the sign parodies the locl government’s widespread implementation of “Do not ____” signs across public spaces.
